Carmel Valley, part of the city of San Diego, is located east of Del Mar and Interstate 5 about eighteen miles north of San Diego.
Carmel Valley housing is a mix of single family homes, apartments and condos, all of which were built after 1980. Building continues and the entire area is clean, bright and well-maintained. It's a classic bedroom community.
Over half the working adults are either managers or professionals. Access to Interstate 5 is easy. Also, train commuting is popular from the Sorrento Valley station, a few miles to the south.
